Helen and Del Johnson created Sizzlers in 1958. First restaurant founded in 1958 in Culver City, California. Sizzlers promoted steak and combo steak meals with salad bars in the early 1980s.
They raised food costs and quality in 1990. Sizzlers was acquired by Australian investment firm Pacific Equity Partners in 2005.
In 2011, they announced they will sell Sizzler America. Due to COVID-19, the restaurant closed in 2020. Kerry Kramp is the CEO of Sizzlers, with 270 Restaurants in the US, including California, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, and Puerto Rico.
They also have restaurants in Australia, China, Indonesia, South Korea, South Africa, Canada, Japan, and Thailand. Sizzler headquarters are in Mission Viejo, California.
